About
Calderbin is a file storage and transfer service. You upload a file, get a link and send it on. The link lasts 24 hours, the file is kept for 14 days and is then deleted automatically.
We are a small team and the service is growing steadily. We keep it deliberately plain: no folders, no tags, no collaborative editing, no mobile apps. One job — move a file across and not leave it lying around forever.
How storage works
- A file is reachable by you and by whoever you sent the link to. There is no shared catalogue and no search across other people's files.
- Retention and link lifetime are counted automatically. Expired files are removed from disk together with their records.
- Passwords are stored as hashes — the original cannot be recovered, not even by us. It can only be replaced.
- Uploading requires a signed-in account. That limit is deliberate: it is what lets us stay accountable for what sits on the servers.
What we do not do
- We show no advertising and embed no third-party counters or trackers.
- We do not pass data to third parties and do not sell statistics.
- We do not inspect file contents for recommendations or advertising.
- We send no email other than replies to your own messages.
